Prawning Equipment Hire
Night-time estuary prawning is an exciting and unique fishing method used to collect a local delicacy (fresh local prawns). Suitable for all ages, prawning provides a fun way to sustainably gather a seafood meal whilst also creating a memorable evening with family and friends. Apart from a delicious meal, prawning also provides the unique opportunity to see hosts of interesting nocturnal marine life and, at times, fascinating bioluminescence. Prawning is a seasonal activity best enjoyed in the warmer months during specific tidal and moon phase conditions. Due to the fickle nature of this activity ACWA only offers prawning equipment hire during times clients are likely to experience success. Please check the list of available dates below prior to making your inquiry. ACWA’s experienced local guides will also offer advice on places to go, timing and technique as a part of our hire package.

(Please note: Prawning is most optimal during a new moon when the sky is at its darkest).
How it works
-Use the list of available dates above to choose a night/s you wish to hire prawning equipment
- Contact ACWA and advise staff your shoe sizes
-Pick up equipment prior to the evening you wish to go prawning
- Drop off equipment the day after prawning
(Pick up and drop off site will be advised over the phone)
